Description

Class E is a chemical for etching carbon steel as part of the pre-penetrant etch process in non-destructive testing (NDT). It is also known as S1095 Carbon Steel Etchant. It prepares carbon steel parts for the subsequent fluorescent penetrant inspection as outlined in multiple aerospace manuals, such as GEK 9250 and CFM specifications.
