AWS D1.9 Titanium Weld Etch

Description

Titanium Weld Etch is the formula listed in the annex of AWS welding code D1.9. This product will show the grain structure of titanium; however, it will NOT stain the filler into a different color from the base material. A microscope is required to examine the weld penetration and HAZ. Made with reagent grade chemicals.

User Instructions:

• Warning! This product contains HF (hydrofluoric acid). HF is a contact poison. Please wear protective gear. Seek medical attention immediately if it gets on the skin. HF will attack glasswares, please use a plastic container to transfer this liquid.
• Remove the cut marks from the weld using a series of sandpapers and grind the surface to 600 grit finish or finer before etching. Immerse the sample for 5+ minutes.
• Rinse with water thoroughly before handling.
